Down to Earth Sociology: Body Ritual Among the Nacirema

Image result for wearing shoes inside the house

Many cultural norms can seem strange to us because of our little knowledge about their culture. The American culture can put others off too. Let's use shoes as an example, in Asain culture, shoes are to be taken off by the door before even passing the entrance. To them, American culture is strange because the majority of  Americans wear their shoes inside the house. To the Asian culture, it's dirty. Bringing in dirt and germs inside the house ruins the carpet; also, it leaves scratches to wooden or tile floors.
